“Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.” – Ovid
Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, better known as Ovid, wrote the epic Metamorphoses and is considered one of the greatest poets of Latin literature. He’s also, obviously, the author of the great quote above.
He was born in what is now Italy in 43 B.C. He was involved in Roman government until he decided to devote his life to poetry. His tale of Pyramus and Thisbe is the source for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
