Things We Could All Learn From Jessica Simpson

TMFC

Okay. I'll grant you that the above is a most unusual titile - and I'd be willing to wager it's a group of words you've never seen join forces. But, hopefully, by the end of the article, you'll see that there's a great deal of truth in these very words.

In case you've been living underneath a mountain the past few years, you're fully aware of who Jessica Simpson is.....but you may not be aware of who Jessica Simpson IS.

The small-capped is? It's obvious:
  • She's totally beautiful.
  • She has one of the most amazing voices to ever hit a recording studio.
  • She's built like the sirens from yesterday's Hollywood.
  • She's a very, very sweet girl who tends to be soft-spoken.
  • She totally and completely loves her family and is devoted to them.
  • She's an extremely popular star with more online searches than anyone.

The large-capped IS? Not as obvious:
  • Jessica writes much of her own music and lyrics. The "dumb blonde" persona that she created durning the time her "Newlyweds" show aired was just that - a "dumb blonde" persona that she created. She allows people to think what they want of her, then she catches them off guard - while they're underestimating her, she runs on ahead. You've heard of a Poker Face when playing cards? Jessica lives her life with a Poker Face - all the while raking in more money than most of her critics will ever see in their lifetime. I expect that, on occasion, she laughs about that behind her Poker Face.
  • Her singing career has gospel roots. She started singing in a church chior - a humble and Heavenly beginning. When she was very young, she wanted a role on the Mickey Mouse Club. She wanted it in the worst way, but she didn't get it. I can't help thinking that she's done okay without the mouse! A really young person, especially, could have taken that rejection and given up. Many adults do, after all. But Jessica kept believing in herself and fought to get where she is today.
  • A devout Christian, Jessica has taken many stands for and stands against things she believes in. She was ridiculed for a while in the media for her morals - but she cared more about her own faith and more about Go than she cared about anyone in the media. Can't argue with that!
  • Unlike the average celebrity, Jessica believes in "giving back" and is active in many charities - especially charities for children. Like Angelina Jolie, Jessica has traveled to Africa and seeks to find new ways to help the precious children who need medical help and attention.
  • When you hear about countless young girls in Hollywood fighting and feuding, calling names and fighting in public - you don't hear of Jessica taking part in any of the nonsense. Even when the likes of Lindsay Lohan try to drag her down to their level, she refuses to go. She handles herself with more class than the majority of them.
  • Speaking of class, she also showed plenty of it during her separation and divorce from Nick Lachey. She could have ranted against him, pointed fingers, etc - but she kept her emotions to herself, as opposed to spilling them out onto everyone else.

Personally, I just think there are things to be learned from the life of Jessica Simpson. If anyone can look past who they think she is and she who she really IS.
